Secondary
The curriculum in the secondary school is based on the state guidelines for graduation requirements. The curriculum follows closely to the public school system. In the Junior High, (grades 7-8) the curriculum consists of math, english, science, physical education, social studies, and an exploratory block consisting of keyboarding, drama, choir, and art. A Biblical studies credit is also earned as the students study through a survey of the Old and New Testaments.
In the senior high (grades 9-12) the curriculum requires twenty-three credits plus one Bible credit each year of attendance at Columbia Christian. A total of twenty-seven credits is required for graduation. The courses required are designed to prepare a student for college/university entrance. There is a requirement of four years of english; four years of social studies; three years of math; four years of Bible; one year of physical education; four years of electives. The students may choose to take trigonometry, calculus, chemistry, environmental science, physiology, physics, advanced placement history; advanced computers, drama 1,2,3,4, and art 1,2,3,4 as advanced courses at Columbia .
The normal academic day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. Our school year begins the Wednesday after Labor Day holiday and ends the second Friday in June.
